Testing Standard

01 Power and Signal Test

Each unit is connected to mains power at the correct rated voltage and switched on. We confirm that it powers up, that all channels and outputs pass signal, and that meters, displays and indicators respond.

For loudspeakers and line array cabinets we check every driver individually with a swept tone and a signal generator, and listen for distortion, rubbing or dead drivers.

02 Controls and Connections

Every knob, fader, button, encoder and switch is exercised through its full range. Every input and output connector is plugged and tested, and we note any channel that is intermittent.

Digital consoles and processors are reset to factory defaults, their firmware is checked, and recalled presets are tested.

03 Cosmetic and Structural Inspection

Cabinets and chassis are inspected for dents, cracks, warping and previous repair. Grille cloth, corners, handles, feet and rack ears are checked, and the interior is inspected where the design allows.

04 Pass or Fail

A unit passes when it powers on, all advertised functions operate, and no fault is found. A unit with a fault we cannot repair to specification is graded B or C, and the fault is disclosed in the listing.

The test date and result are recorded against each unit before it ships.

05 Limits of This Standard

Our test is a functional bench test. It is not a long-run burn-in, not a full SPL or power-rating certification, and not an acoustic measurement in an anechoic chamber.

We do not claim original manufacturer specifications, calibration certificates or factory warranty. Where a buyer requires third-party inspection or measurement, we can arrange it on request before shipment.
