Condition Grading Standard
Draft — pending owner confirmation. The wording below describes our standard practice and is not yet a binding commitment.
Our equipment is second-hand. We grade it on function first and appearance second, and we photograph the flaws before you pay. Here is exactly what each grade means.
01 How We Assign a Grade
Every unit is inspected by hand, powered on and tested, and then given a grade of A, A-minus, B or C.
The grade reflects both working condition and cosmetic condition. A unit that works perfectly but shows marked cosmetic wear will not be graded A.
02 Grade A
Functionally perfect, with no fault found in testing.
Cosmetic condition is close to new: minimal marks, intact grille and finish, and all controls and connectors clean and fully operative.
03 Grade A-minus
Functionally perfect, with no fault found in testing.
Light cosmetic wear is present — small scuffs, minor scratches, slight surface dulling — but no dents, cracks or structural damage. Flaws are shown in the listing photographs.
04 Grade B
Fully functional, or functional with minor faults that are clearly described in the listing — for example a stiff fader or a scratched display cover.
Noticeable cosmetic wear may be present, such as dents, deep scratches, repainted panels or replaced grille cloth. Sold as a working unit at a lower price.
05 Grade C and For Parts
Units that do not pass a full functional test, or that carry major faults, are listed as Grade C or as for parts / non-working.
They are sold as-is for repair or spares and are excluded from the test warranty.
06 Reading the Grade on a Listing
The grade appears on every product page together with a list of disclosed flaws and close-up photographs.
Grades describe the condition of the equipment as we found it. Second-hand goods always show some signs of use, and a grade is not a guarantee of appearance.
